    Clinical Safety & Contraindications

    • Photosensitivity: While Cynosure devices do not emit UVA/UVB rays, certain medications can cause light sensitivity. We recommend a medical assessment and mandatory test spots prior to treatment.

    • Topical Treatments: If a patient is using irritating topicals (causing dryness or flaking), discontinue use 1-2 weeks before treatment.

    • Gold Therapy Contraindication: Patients with a past or present history of Gold Therapy (oral or injected for arthritis) should not be treated. Exposure to laser energy can cause chrysiasis (permanent bluish-gray skin discoloration).
